Telangana is a wonderful ‘State’, says Duggal
HYDERABAD: Telangana might be still one of the three regions in Andhra Pradesh, but VK Duggal, the member-secretary of the Justice BN Committee is considering Telangana as a `wonderful State’.

In a slip of the tongue, Duggal termed Telangana as a `State’ while interacting with mediapersons here today.
Speaking on his maiden visit to the City, Duggal said that `Hyderabad is a wonderful City. Telangana is a wonderful State’. It was only after a few minutes, Duggal realised the mistake and corrected by saying that Rayalaseema, Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh were wonderful places.

Though he made the statement in slip of the tongue, the officials feel that the statement was made deliberately to give positive image to the Committee among people aspiring for separate Statehood for Telangana. ``As many people from the region are opposing the Committee and are expressing apprehensions over its report, he might have wanted to change their opinion,’’ said a senior official.
Duggal, who is well-versed with five languages, is now learning Telugu and assured to converse in it soon.

He has been provided with high security and a convoy comprising nearly ten vehicles keeping in view of the opposition from some Telangana politicians and students.
However, Duggal felt that the opposition to the Committee will subside soon.
On representations received so far, Duggal said that as people from Andhra Pradesh are settled everywhere in the world, he has been receiving representations from across the globe. ``One such caller from abroad woke up me at 5.30 a.m. stating that he wanted to give his opinion. It was only after I convinced him to send his representation to my email ID assuring to look into it, he stopped calling,’’ Duggal said.
