KCR warns against UT status to city

Hyderabad, Oct. 29: The TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, warned the Centre that any attempt to turn Hyderabad into a Union Territory would be strongly resisted by Telangana people.

“We will not give even an inch of Telangana land. Hyderabad is part of Telangana and when the state is bifurcated we want Telangana as on October 31, 1956. Telangana without Hyderabad is like a headless body,” he remarked.

“When Union Territories like Goa, Puducherry and Delhi have become states why should Hyderabad be turned into a UT?” he said.

Referring to reports that Centre was planning to have a UT, he said it was another attempt to create confusion.
